Truth-Sharing : Observation And Growth

By Sister Initiate Huang Youle, Formosa

I would have retreated had I known in advance the incredible difficulties that awaited us when we followed Master on Her 1993 world lecture tour. I hold my travel companions in great esteem and admiration. They accomplished things that were beyond the average person, and endured the unendurable.

Two huge venues had been selected for Master's two lectures in Korea, especially the one in Pusan, which was held in a stadium built for the Olympics that could accommodate over 40,000 people. Its dome-shaped ceiling was over ten stories high. The spherical stadium had seats built around the center. It was not clear which was the main direction. There was neither a platform nor background scenery for the stage. The carpenter brothers had to build the platform. Since we didn't understand the Korean language, we communicated with the local initiates through hand gestures.

The background had to be suspended from the ceiling. The iron staircase leading to the ceiling was a narrow one used for ceiling maintenance. It was more like a ladder leading into the clouds than a staircase. A construction brother volunteered, "I used to climb over ten stories to make models. I can do it." Later, it almost became a stunt show in Infinite Light. We heard him loudly singing songs, but couldn't see him from the floor. The brother worked for hours while standing on the small and narrow staircase high above the ground, and he had to sing to overcome his fear of heights. Ropes were lowered one by one, as though being put down by God. When all the ropes were arranged as designed, it seemed that most of the work was done. But because of the height, the background scenery became too heavy and the ropes holding it in place broke several times. The scenery was finally set up after several trials. Another brother volunteered to help but was forced to climb down when he was overcome by fear halfway up the staircase.

On the day of the lecture, the hall was packed with Truth seekers. The stage and background setting looked magnificent. Master praised the setting for its Korean style, simplicity, and creativity. Although that was true, I thought Master had mentioned it as a reward for the work team because it was an extremely difficult task. After the lecture, over 500 people received initiation. Our fatigue and hard work turned into joy and I felt honored to have participated in the lecture tour and in accomplishing this job. Whenever I talk with my former partners about these two lectures in Korea, we all feel gratified. It was truly great to have made the impossible possible!
