According
to the laws of the universe, the sun rises in the east and sets
in the west. Thus has the eastern spiritual heaven seen the rise
of a star that has instilled faith in humankind. This is an extraordinary
star of feminine quality. She is a new beacon that gives light to
the world.
In 1994 She was honored
with the "World Spiritual Leadership Award" at a grand ceremony in Chicago,
USA; in the summer of 1992 She was warmly received by the audience at
a lecture on "The Mystery Of The World Beyond" at United Nations in
New York. This mysterious Au Lac lady from the East was awarded on "Honorable
Citizenship of the United States of America" - a privilege that few
share.
This fine lady has neither
a high position nor a big fortune. She is an ordinary woman whom the
West does not have to cater favors to. Then why did US President Bill
Clinton send a telegraph to congratulate Her on Her receiving the "World
Spiritual Leadership Award"? Her name is Supreme Master Ching Hai. Born
into a doctor's family in Au Lac, She once served for the Red Cross.
She attained enlightenment while in a retreat in the Himalayas and became
a spiritual master.
She discusses the harmony
between man and nature, and the mysteries of the worlds beyond and the
key to enlightenment. Her books have been published in many languages
some of which are English, German, Spanish, French, Polish, Japanese,
Mongolian and Russian. She is not only spiritually enlightened, but
also has many artistic talents such as painting, composing music and
writing poetry.
She has become well-known
as a "spiritual leader" in the West because of Her profound understanding
of both western and eastern cultures. This new star that has risen in
the eastern spiritual realm in the twentieth century has followers in
a number of cities around the world.
A spiritual center of The
Supreme Master Ching Hai has been established in Mongolia. The following
are quotations from The Supreme Master Ching Hai's publication, "The
Key of Immediate Enlightenment". (This is an abridged version of the
original article.)
The Shoulder Post is regarded
as one of the most informative and widely read publications in Mongolia.
Its chief editor, Indongiin Tudev, once ran for president and is a well-known
figure in his country. His extensive knowledge and many published works
have won him the reputation as the number one scholar in Mongolia. According
to a professor at the Mongolia University, if a Nobel prize winner for
literature was to be selected from Mongolia, the honor would indisputably
go to Mr. Tudev.
Mr. Tudev received us in
his office at a meeting arranged by mutual friends. He is a soft-spoken
gentle man refined in his manner. When he learned that Supreme Master
Ching Hai is an innate poetess, he immediately autographed a copy of
his poetry anthology for presentation to Her as a memento of friendship
between two writers. Not long after the meeting, he published a chapter
from The Supreme Master Ching Hai's sample booklet entitled "Why People
Must Be Vegetarian" in the Mongolian Post. He also wrote a preface for
the article in which he introduced Supreme Master Ching Hai as a rising
star in the spiritual realm. Mr. Tudev expressed his delight at the
enthusiastic response from his readers regarding their intention to
try a vegetarian diet. He is also planning to introduce poems by Supreme
Master Ching Hai to readers interested in the arts, in future issues
of the Mongolian Shoulder Post.
(Note: The Shoulder Post
is published on every "Lucky Day" on Mongolian calendar.)
