Dear
Supreme Master Ching Hai:
We extend
our .sincere appreciation for your generous donation of $100,000.00
to the Interagency Committee for Homeless Veterans. Our Medical
Center is a key sponsor of this committee. Their mission is to
identify, and assist the homeless veterans, and their families
in our community. Their vision is to break the "cycle - of homelessness " which
often requires monetary resources to support the compassionate
efforts of the staff members.
It is certainly,
our pleasure and grateful desire to be a good steward of your enlightened
compassion and support lo our veterans. I would like to offer occasional
progress reports to you of the activities and programs your generosity
has created.
I would
also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Thomas Ngo of the
Los Anodes Meditation Center, for sharing your books with me. In
light of reading these books, my understanding and appreciation
for your gift is magnified. We are humbled by your concern and
interest for the suffering of our veterans and their children so
far from you.
Thank you again, for Caring!
Sincerely,
Charlene A. Johnson

Letters Of Appreciation From Department Of Veterans
Affairs Medical Center West Los Angeles

Dear Supreme Master :
We are
in receipt of your letter of March 27 and are very pleased that
the funds have been approved. We Intend to establish a special
fund with your donation that will be used for the express purpose
of assisting homeless veterans and their families.
The latest
figures in Los Angeles county show that the number of homeless
veterans, and in particular, homeless families, is still growing.
We are fortunate in that our homeless program is also growing in
an effort to provide more services to these veterans. Sadly, we
still cannot serve all the homeless veterans who are in need.
Your generous
donation will give us the ability to devote the needed time and
energy to programs designed specifically to help homeless veterans
and their families. We have been very successful in our ability
to form partnerships with community based agencies helping the
homeless. These partnerships create a synergy, enhancing the services
of each partner, and augmenting the effectiveness of each dollar
invested.
Thank you
again for this generous donation. America's veterans are in your
debt.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Clark
Medical Center Director
