Sharing God's Divine
Light of Truth

[Los Angeles]On April 28-29 and June 3, 2001, Los Angeles Center initiates participated in two successful activities to disseminate Master's teachings in Southern California.

A Bliss-filled Book Festival

On April 28 and 29, 2001 one of America's largest literary events, the Sixth Annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, was held on the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). The festival featured guest speakers, author signings, entertainment, over 300 exhibitors, 400 authors, and about 100,000 attendees. The speakers included world-renowned science fiction writer Ray Bradbury, actress Jane Seymour, Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, and Oscar, Emmy and Tony-award winning writer Sidney Sheldon.

At the Festival, L. A. practitioners ran a booth attractively displaying Master's musical and artistic creations. A constant stream of visitors came to the booth, and many showed great interest in spirituality and meditation, as they sincerely shared their thoughts about Master and Her teachings. For example, an African guru of the Hindu faith said of Supreme Master Ching Hai, "I think that these teachings are very profound and inspirational for many people." And a Chinese guest said, "She's a very special lady. She was alone practicing in the high mountains where it is very cold, and She found the Truth about Her true beliefs. I think She's brave and also She's pretty."

Many viewers of the TV program, "A Journey through Aesthetic Realms" broadcast on KSCI-International Channel, also visited the booth. An African American woman viewer said that she saw the program featuring Supreme Master Ching Hai's lecture in Cape Town, South Africa, which made her decide to come to the festival to visit our booth. She added, "When I saw Her speaking at the church (in Cape Town), it just looked like She was so peaceful, so concerned about everybody. Oh, it was great, so in tune with God, so I loved it." And another viewer stated, "I thought She was really spiritual and it was beautiful, really soothing and a lot of what God has to say to us. I was really moved by what She had to say. I just find Her to be a very beautiful lady. She's so spiritual."
