Little Lion's father told him, "I am brave when I should be, and only this is true bravery!" Similarly, when we are new to spiritual practice, we are always very anxious. Our spiritual cultivation is still not stable and our meditation is not very good, yet we go out and boast. People feel uncomfortable with us. This is not the way to preach the Truth. It is more important to first purify our actions, speech and thoughts, and fulfill our obligations. When we have perfected ourselves spiritually, people will follow us

even if we don't say anything. We might be doing the right thing, but if it is done at the wrong time and in the wrong place, then it is futile. This is where we should use our wisdom. If you think you are very clever and do everything in a rush, then it is not good!
