Report From Miaoli News Group, Formosa

The patrol team formed by Miaoli initiates to serve the neighborhood and help the needy and orphaned receives a certificate entitled "Patrol Friends" from Hsihu Magistrate Yang Hsiu-hsia.

In response to the government's call on citizens to "care for the orphaned, the homeless, and the aged", townships around Formosa have organized patrol teams to combat crime, help each other, provide disaster relief, and care for the poor, the sick, the homeless, and the aged. In Miaoli County, Hsihu Township Magistrate Yang Hsiu-hsia is committed to serving the public interest in selfless dedication. Under her encouragement, organizations in Hsihu, both public and private, have been generous in contributing to the welfare of local residents. Miaoli initiates have also extended their wholehearted support to the government's move to promote concern for others.

On the morning of September 28, initiates visited senior residents of Hsihu individually to present gifts in commemoration of Senior Citizens' Day (which falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month). In demonstrating their respect for the elders, the initiates also warmed the hearts of the recipients with Master's message of love and concern.
