Center's Event

The Right Concept

By A Fellow Initiate Riverside, Los Angeles, U.S.A.

The neighborhood around the Los Angeles Center has been designated as a rat protection zone. As a result, the Center has turned into a "rathskeller" for these night creatures. Its premises have been badly damaged and the kitchen has become virtually a night bazaar for the rodents. Some fellow initiates suggested that the optimal solution to this perplexing problem was to keep cats. Others put forth a counter proposal of keeping the environment clean, storing the food properly, setting traps, and releasing captured rats in the mountains. After all, the worst the rodents could do, while seeking to survive as nature demands, was to cause an ephemeral material loss for the Center. If the environment were to be protected by having cats hunt down the rats, the intangible intent of killing would destroy the peaceful and positive energy at the Center. As the highest form of all living beings and as spiritual practitioners, could the initiates facilitate destructive confrontations between these animals?

The two sides stuck to their positions; neither could convince the other. However, just as they were about to agree on ridding the Center of rats with the cats, they received an unexpected call from Master. She said, "No cats at the Center." This instruction reduced the initiates to shame for having troubled Master over this issue of cats and rats. It also strengthened their conviction that Master is omnipresent, omniscient, and constantly guiding initiates in the right direction. Thank You very much, dear Master!
