During
initiation, I did not know that the visions I saw were inner experiences.
While meditating on the inner light, I saw the Earth - a beautiful
globe, in white and blue, very similar to the pictures taken by astronauts
from outer space. I also saw a stone statue of the Buddha, in the
sound meditation position, flying from my left to my right. At the
time, I thought those were illusions. Later, when I received the spiritual
diary and saw a Buddha's statue sitting with one folded leg, I thought
to myself: "Isn't this what I just saw?"
Soon after initiation,
I saw a book on Buddhism for children at a friend's home. In it was
an illustration of the Shakyamuni Buddha sitting in meditation. Above
His head was a beautiful globe symbolizing His great awakening. That
globe was exactly like the one I saw during initiation! Then I realized
that the visions that I had during initiation were inner experiences!
However, at the end of the initiation, when the Quan Yin messenger
asked those who had had inner experiences to raise their hands, I
thought I had merely seen an illusion and so I did not raise my hand.
Now I realize that
I did have an enlightenment experience at the time of initiation.
I had thought that the stars in my visions would be like those normally
seen in this world. And that was why I mistook the big star (the globe)
for an illusion.
