After
graduating from university, I married a sister initiate. Because of
my work, we prepared to move from the south to the central part of
the island. We had already engaged a moving company to help us, but
later learned from our neighbors that the manager of this company
was a bad person. We were frightened and worried, so we prayed to
Master for help. Unexpectedly, the day before we were to move, this
manager called to tell us that his truck had broken down, and so he
could not help us move the following day. We were truly relieved!
Through the recommendation of neighbors, we successfully found an
acceptable person to help us move.
It was a fine weekend
in July 1991. My wife and I arrived at our new home, unloaded our
family belongings, had our dinner, and prepared to visit Hsihu the
next morning for group meditation and to see Master. Amazingly that
night, Master came to see us first. Her manifestation form was wearing
a splendid Taoist robe and holding a fan, and throughout the whole
night, Her resplendent light radiated into the air to bless us. She
gave courage to this young man, who had built his career from scratch,
so that he could face the future with hope instead of fears and helplessness.
A few days later, I received Issue No. 15 of the Supreme Master News. When I
looked at the cover picture, I was surprised to find that Master was
wearing the same Taoist robe and holding the same fan that I had seen
in my dream. Only then did I understand why Master is shown wearing
different clothes on the cover of each issue; each conveys a special
meaning to some people. Something else that became clear to me was
that Master always lends a helping hand when I am most in need.
For a young person
who started out without a penny to his name, buying a house was a
big and challenging issue. At about the time we moved to central Formosa,
my wife received a notice from the school where she was teaching that
we had luckily been granted a housing loan, given especially for teachers
and government officials. However, we had to buy the house within
six months, or we would not be eligible for the loan. Of course, we
knew this delightful surprise was another one of Master's fantastic
arrangement. Hoping to find the best house in six months, I made a
thorough survey and analysis of the property in the neighborhood,
taking into consideration a number of factors such as access to our
places of work, law and order, tranquil environment, reasonable price,
sole ownership of the entire building, parking facilities, and the
possibility of flooding in the rainy season.
As the six-month
deadline approached, I became more and more anxious. At this critical
moment, Master again compassionately extended Her helpful hand. One
night, I dreamed that I was following close behind Her as She flew
speedily through the universe. My right palm was placed firmly on
the head of a stranger, and because of the weight of this person,
I was flying with great effort. I shouted loudly: "Master! Please
wait for me! Who is this stranger? She is such a heavy burden. Very
soon I won't be able to fly any more." Master ignored my complaint
and kept on flying. I could see the countenance of this person very
clearly, but she was a stranger to me. What was the implication behind
this dream?
The following day,
we continued to shop around and compare different houses recommended
by real estate agents. A week before the deadline, we finally found
a suitable house. When the agent took us to sign the agreement with
the owner, I noted with amazement that she was the stranger I had
seen in my dream. Obviously Master had already arranged a new home
for us.
Our new house is
right next to the school where I am teaching, and is situated in an
area known for its cultural and academic facilities. The house is
big and comfortable, and the public order in the neighborhood is good.
Besides, it is only a few minutes' walk to the school where my wife
is teaching. I have spent over twenty years studying and have been
living like a rootless plant since childhood. Now I have finally found
a home. Our faith is firmer than ever that, as long as we follow Master
with total devotion and practice diligently, all our difficulties
will be solved, and the best will be arranged for us.
