A Fantastic Vision On The Highway

Before I knew Supreme Master Ching Hai, I had already practiced magical powers for several decades. When I realized that all these were powers within the three realms and could not take people to liberation, I drew a charm and drank it with water. This served to end all my magical powers. However, I still had to repay the karma incurred from using the powers within the three realms.

After practicing the Convenient Method, I still had headaches for quite a while before my condition gradually got better. When reading the scriptures, I often wondered what the "Dragon God Dharma Guard" was. One day in July 1996, I was driving my father-in-law to the airport. When turning from Highway A1 into A9, I suddenly drove into a rainbow, and there I saw the tail of a dragon. Instead of being covered with scales as people would think, it was covered with patches of neatly trimmed long hair. We stayed in that vast and intense brightness for almost twenty seconds while still traveling at 120 kph (75 miles an hour) without any accidents occurring. Looking back now, it really seemed impossible.

Just as we were emerging from the light, I heard Master whisper into my ears: "Now, do you still doubt the existence of the Dragon God Dharma Guard?" Only then did I realize that I had just seen a dragon flying by, and it was the radiant trail it left behind. I was amazed to find that the dragon could travel so quickly! (Illustration B)

Before practicing the Convenient Method, Weng's wife often played with dragons. The "Jade-faced Dragon" was one of her best playmates. When she realized that all such beings belong to the first realm only, she stopped being attached to them! She offers a hand drawn picture of the dragon as an illustration for children's fairy tales.
