Sharing the Message of Love
 in South Africa

By Johannesburg News Group (Originally in English)

Fellow Johannesburg Center initiates have been working together to distribute Master’s message of love via the Alternative Living flyers. We first targeted very busy areas in the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria, personally handing them out. Master’s love must have been shining through us, as many people not only took the flyers but also stopped to ask more about the vegetarian lifestyle. Other leaflet distributors came to us to find out why our flyers were generating so much positive response, and we told them that this was Master’s love reaching out to people. We also gave them our flyers to read, and they started distributing theirs next to us.

In addition, we directed our distribution attention to parking lots in shopping malls and post boxes in our surrounding areas. One sister went to the post office and asked them to put the flyers in the post boxes. Another sister gave some flyers to a newspaper seller, who offered to put them inside every newspaper he sold.

On June 30, Golden Year 3 (2006), the Johannesburg Center sent an initiate to bring Alternative Living flyers to the East coast of Durban. He worked with local fellow practitioners to share God’s message of compassion and love with the local people. The next morning at a beach festival flyers were placed on all the nearby cars. The responses from local passersby were very friendly and appreciative. One lady commented that the vegetarian diet is the best. Another local lady said, “Oh vegetarianism, very nice. Thank you!”

The initiates then visited the only pure vegetarian restaurant in Durban, which is managed by the son of one of the local initiates. There they left some flyers by the counter and enjoyed a delicious Indian vegetarian lunch which included very tasty egg free cakes

At another week long event called the, “East Coast Home and Garden Expo,” the Alternative Living flyers were placed on the windscreens of over a 1000 cars that were parked there. One initiate brother, who distributes property magazines, offered to include the Alternative Living message in his distribution, so a few thousand flyers were left with him.

The Alternative Living message was an eye-opener to the many who received it, not only opening their physical eyes but also touching the innermost wisdom and compassion in their hearts.
