A Celebration of Ching Hai Day
through Art and Poetry

[Hsihu] On Sunday, October 23, 2005, more than three thousand fellow initiates and their guests from all around Formosa gathered at the Hsihu Center to observe the twelfth anniversary of Ching Hai Day. On this meaningful occasion, cool autumn breezes blew through the Center’s Rainbow Garden, Dragon Boat Lake, Nectar River and Red Pavilion, providing an enchanting ambience. Meanwhile the sisters and brothers expressed their respect, love and longing for Master through art work and poetry recitals.

In the morning, four hundred enthusiastic amateur artists, adults and children alike, captured Hsihu’s picturesque landscape through charcoal and crayon drawings and watercolor paintings. Besides the physical scenery, the radiant tones of these works portrayed their creators’ spiritual insights and the Heavenly Kingdom’s splendor, touching the hearts of all viewers.

Next the participants ate lunch and enjoyed a short film introducing the October 25, 1993 origins of Ching Hai Day, after which initiates revealed their inner realizations and reverence and appreciation for Master through highly creative poetry recitations. The poets’ sincere expressions of feeling inspired rounds of warm applause from the audience. Included in this part of the program were the brilliant poems by Changhua Center initiates “It is You,” “Because We Have You” and “Ode to Ching Hai,” which described the poets’ insights on the three stages of spiritual development. The verses contrasted the struggles of the secular world with the joy of receiving Master’s message, celebrated spiritual elevation through God’s grace and extolled Master’s glory. Also, the recitation of “I Sail Happily in the Tranquil Ocean of Love” by a Taipei practitioner conveyed the peace and bliss of Heaven on earth experienced by a fellow practitioner basking in Master’s infinite mercy and love.

Afterwards, while feeling grateful and loving toward Master, the participants further rejoiced in the glory of Ching Hai Day by sharing delicious vegetarian cakes. The Hsihu Center’s 2005 Ching Hai Day celebration then concluded in an ocean of joy and laughter.♥
