Panorama of Events

[Manila] Castillejos is a remote, mountainous area far from the city surrounded by a thick, lush forest. The rural people of the region are unaware of outside civilization and development, and their simple lifestyle revolves around growing vegetables for their daily living. But the weather in the Philippines is very hot, and the rainy season is short. Therefore life can be difficult for Castillejos residents, as they lack many of life's basic necessities.
A brother initiate happened to meet some of these local people while passing through the area and learned of their hardship. Then one day, after group meditation at the Manila Center, the initiate shared his experiences with the group. After hearing his story, everyone enthusiastically supported the idea of bringing Master's teachings to Castillejos and collecting gifts of clothing, candies and biscuits to share with the resident ethnic minority.

The residents of Castillejos were very happy and surprised to see the brother return with other initiates bringing along many boxes of sample booklets, magazines and gift packs especially for them. Using their distinctive dialect, they sincerely expressed their deep gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai, saying "Salamat po Master Ching Hai."
