[San
Jose] San Jose Center initiates were
recently blessed with the chance to participate in two spiritual events
within a space of seven days - the Bay Area VegFair and the Vegetarian
House's second seminar featuring Master's videos.
The
VegFair, Northern California's largest vegetarian festival, took place
on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the beautiful and spacious Santa Clara
Convention Center. The event was publicized as a free educational expo
offering food sampling, well-known speakers and authors and cooking
demos to reveal the simplicity of vegetarian living.
The
Supreme Master International Association Vegetarian House Restaurant
hosted a booth at the fair and served two delectable dishes, Indian
Dharma and Sechzuan Tofu, which have been great hits at numerous past
events. A continuous stream of people eagerly waited to taste the delicacies,
with many returning for more, not only to re-sample the delicious food,
but also to experience the peaceful and serene ambience as Master's
loving omnipresence emanating from the video screen at the booth. Many
Truth seekers lingered to view Master's videos and seek answers to their
questions.
Regular
customers of the Vegetarian House also attended the event, expressing
their great joy and satisfaction with their favorite restaurant's extensive
and delicious menu. Back at The Restaurant, the chefs cooked nonstop
in order to replenish the heavenly dishes at the fair, as large pots
of food were delivered several times to keep up with the demand. All
the other food booths at the VegFair stopped serving long before closing
time, which made ours even busier. An hour before the fair ended, our
busy volunteers finally got a chance to rest and bask in Master's joyful
blessings and smiles.
To
cap off the San Jose Center's successful participation in the VegFair,
the day culminated in our fellow practitioners' mingling with fair attendees
in a first for local initiates - a dance party, held in a local vegan
caf? It was amazing to observe the boundless energy of the initiates,
who had risen at the crack of dawn, and served the public all day, but
still had enough stamina to dance in the evening and then attend group
meditation soon afterwards!
Then
on February 8, 2003, the San Jose Center's second spiritual video seminar
was held at the Vegetarian House of the Supreme Master Ching Hai International
Association.
One
of the attendees had learned of the seminar from a flyer distributed
at the VegFair. He looked very pleased to be at the event and was eager
to learn more about Master Ching Hai. Another participant had found
out about the seminar while dining at the Vegetarian House just minutes
before it began. The avid Truth seekers in attendance were very focused,
with many asking questions and later learning the Convenient Method.
