Due
to God's grace, fellow practitioners were able to have a very wonderful
night party with our most beloved and revered Master on the occasion of
the Lunar Moon Festival Celebration in Bangkok. Originally only Thai
disciples were allowed to join this party. However, in order to satisfy
fellow practitioners' yearning, the compassionate Master specially allowed
fellow practitioners from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and
even one disciple from Switzerland to participate in this wonderful party.
All came with joy and contentment.
 Master kindly made a suggestion
about the food. We could have something simple like a barbecue, not spending
too much money on it. Thai fellow practitioners were blessed by the utmost power
in working together to prepare everything for this party. All was arranged in
time, the stage area was decorated with large, bright, blooming, yellow flowers.
Delicious vegetarian cakes and candies were beautifully arrange and well prepared.
Everyone waited with great
excitement and attentiveness for Master's arrival. Finally, the grand moment
came, bringing with it a wonderful surprise: Master appeared most beautifully
made-up, with an elegant dress of Thai fabric and a very charming hairdo. After
walking around to see and greet all the disciples, She revealed to us that She
was not in good health that day. At first, Master did not want to come. But
She promised us and since there were also foreign disciples joining the party,
She eventually agreed. We were very touched and intoxicated by Her divine, boundless
and unconditional love for others, especially Her disciples, whom She always
puts before Herself.
Master has always taught us
to be ready and to prepare ourselves and our hearts for anything or any situation that might happen, and not to depend on anyone else because he/she might
drop us or change anytime. Master also said that whenever we do anything for
the sake of other people, it will always be good for others and especially for
ourselves, even though it might sometimes cause us disappointment, sadness or
frustration.
The atmosphere of the party
was full of joy and fun. The performances were presented by the Thai and Singaporean
fellow practitioners, and at times Master casually talked to us in Her usual
humorous manner, filling the party with laughter and joy. During the last performance,
the Thai fellow practitioners invited everyone to sing a song together, "Dokmai
Khunna Dharma," which means the flower of dharma will only be given to the one
who seeks the Truth. When the song ended three large hand-made yellow flowers
were offered to Master. Before She left, Master was invited to cut the cake
for us. A sense of love, happiness and contentment touches everyone.
All fellow practitioners were
really touched and appreciated Master's great compassion -- that She granted
us such a wonderful party despite Her delicate health condition. All of us pray
wholeheartedly to all the Buddhas in the ten directions and from the three periods
of time to bless our most revered and beloved Master to have the best health
and to stay with us forever.
