★The Earth could be on the brink of a death-dealing calamity－－ and belching cows are partly to blame!

　 Methane gas released into the atmosphere is contributing to the notorious greenhouse effect that experts fear will raise the Earth’s temperature, causing flooding and other catastrophes. And every time a bossy belches, it releases a gusher of methane gas.

　 “There are one and a half billion cows on this planet, each of them expelling half a pound of methane into our atmosphere every day,” said University of Stockholm researcher Dr. Olof Andersson. “No wonder we’re in big trouble.”
