Spiritual Interlude

Word From The Heart

By Fellow Sister Chen Mei-Li, Chiayi, Formosa

(Originally in Chinese)

In those days that You were in Hsihu,
I would never miss each and every Sunday that I could visit.
I like to admire and appreciate Your beauty and elegance
From the most appropriate distance.

When I was practicing poorly,
In dreams, You would stare at me with Your bright eyes,
Letting me know that I should improve.
When I was as simple as a child,
In dreams, You would embrace me like a mother,
So warm and sweet.
When I needed help,
In dreams, You would hold my hands tightly like a friend,
And gave me power.

You are the bright lamp in the bitter sea, illuminating me.
You are the best guide, leading me to the other shore.
