The sushi personally made by sister Lin has always been a fast selling product in the Vegetarian House, and is always short of demand. When she wraps the sushi, as well as silently reciting the Holy Names, Master's Buddhist Chanting or lecture tapes are played.
Once when sister Lin was going to participate in a seven-day retreat, she asked her mother to look after her children, and also to help wrap the sushi. As her mother was not initiated, unavoidably she mentioned some small matters at home while she was working. Sister Lin said to her mother: "One has to concentrate on thinking about Master during one's work and recite Her name. Otherwise, today's sushi will not sell well."
Lin's mother did not want to believe this and still continued to chatter. Besides, she said, in a unbelieving tone: "I don't really believe you."
Usually, the sushi wrapped by sister Lin is white, bright and makes people's mouth water. However, the sushi wrapped by Lin's mother at that time was dark and dull. As expected, on the evening of the same day, there was a phone call from the Vegetarian House: "The sushi is not selling well, don't wrap too many."
Only then was Lin's mother wholeheartedly convinced: "Really miraculous! When I go back to Taipei, I will start eating vegetarian; and I also want to get initiation from Master."
After coming back from the seven-day retreat, sister Lin worked as usual. When she was wrapping the sushi, she recited the Holy Names. As a result, the sushi once again became one of the best selling products at the Vegetarian House. From this, she understood what Master has often said: A person's thinking power has a very great influence. It was certainly like that!
Master has also said: "One thought in our mind could affect the whole universe." Therefore, we have to try our best to avoid generating negative thoughts at all times. We have to be alert; have good, kind and positive thoughts; so that a good atmosphere can spread throughout the world.
