Appreciation Letters

STATE OF OKLAHOMA
OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR

(Originally in English)

Dear Friends,

Thank you again for your generous donation to the Victims and Families Relief Fund. Through the generosity of thousands of Americans and people around the world, we have been able to provide almost $5.5 million to the care of families of victims and to the survivors of the April 19th disaster.

One of the lessons we in Oklahoma have learned over the past months is that when our fellow Americans are struck by horrific violence, even from within, ail differences fall to the wayside. No longer do divisive issues figure in the equation. We forget our differences and respond as Americans and as world citizens to help our neighbors in need.

Enclosed you will find a chart that shows the distribution of funds from the Victims and Families Relief Fund. These funds, combined with financial aid from other charitable organizations, have enabled those most dramatically affected by the disaster to take care of many of their monetary needs.

It came to my attention that none of the active charitable funds had made provisions for the continued education of the 239 children who lost one or both parents in the bombing. Therefore, the Victims and Families Relief Fund has taken on this task. So far over $4.S million has been raised to secure their education.

Also enclosed is a map of the United States indieating that every state in the union rushed to our aid. We can never fully express our gratitude to you and our friends around the nation and around the world who helped so much in our darkest hour. To all who have helped us recover and rebuild from this great tragedy we will forever be grateful.

Sincerely,
Frank Keating

Note: After the bomb explosion incident in Oklahoma, U.S.A., Supreme Master Ching Hai immediately instructed the American fellow initiates to form a relief group, and to proceed to the scene rendering emergency aid. She also sent a message to fellow initiates throughout the world, asking them to pray for the victims together. As directed by Master, out' Headquarters and Centers had in total remitted over US$100,000 to the relief fund, for which State Governor of Oklahoma, Mr. Frank Keating, had sent a letter of appreciation.
