Vegan Diet Public Awareness Campaign
By Busan News Group (Originally in Korean)

[Busan] The local Association members held banners to spread the vegan message at Gwangalli Beach during the Busan International Fireworks Festival on October 23, Golden Year 7 (2010).

Traditionally, Korean people celebrate the beginning of a new year by watching the first sunrise of the year and making a wish to the rising sun. On that day in Busan, many people gathered at Haeundae Beach before daybreak to watch the sunrise. So our local fellow initiates took the opportunity to hand out SOS flyers and CDs as well as holding banners to inform people about the benefits of the vegan diet.

Busan Association members also participated in the Gawngbok-ro Street Festival as part of the Jung-gu District Office’s climate change campaign, where they served vegan food, distributed informative materials and played related songs. Jung-gu District officials thanked our group for the information and even volunteered to help hand out the SOS flyers and CDs.
