Informing the Youth in High Schools

By Manila News Group (Originally in English)

[Manila] Since January 11, Golden Year 8 (2011), our Association members from Manila Center have conducted a series of lectures for students at local high schools on the vegan solution to global warming. These included Parañaque National, Blessed Luisa and Baclaran National, with more planned. At the talks, the attentive youth listened to presentations on the devastating effects of the livestock industry to humans, our fellow beings and the planet. In a segment about respecting the lives of all creatures, films were shown highlighting the talents and noble love of our animal friends. In addition, information was shared regarding the many nutritional benefits of the low-emissions, plant-based diet.

Many students shed tears of sympathy when seeing the pitiful plight of the animals. One expressed his willingness to go vegetarian to help the Earth and his health. After the lecture, the students participated in a question and answer session while vegan treats were given to the young audience.

Teachers requested copies of the videos shown to share with more students. Dr. Rosendo C. Abulog, the principal of Baclaran National High School, expressed his appreciation and encouraged our Association members to bring the message to other schools in the city.

We thank the teachers and staff at these high schools, for their dedication in helping students understand how our environment can be protected from climate change. May all bright young people join the noble path of adopting the Earth-saving diet, facilitating our world into a gentle, vegan paradise.
