Recognizing a Compassionate Animal Welfare Group
By Israel News Group (Originally in English)

The Israeli animal welfare group “Let the Animals Live” works to change governmental policy on poisoning to control the number of stray cats and dogs on city streets, and promotes the humane alternative of neutering, which is being used successfully in Tel Aviv and other cities. Neutering or castration is a quick surgical procedure carried out under full anesthesia. After surgery, animals remain under veterinary supervision for 48 hours, and are then immunized, marked, and released into their home territories. The organization also supplies food and medical care to animals in the Palestinian city of Gaza.

On June 8, Golden Year 6 (2009), Supreme Master Ching Hai recognized the work of “Let the Animals Live” with a contribution of US$5,000 for the purchase of vegetarian animal food and medical supplies, and expressed Her thanks to the group for its compassionate aid to our animal co-inhabitants.
