Reaching Out to Sincere Hearts at
the Body Mind & Spirit Expo

By Oregon News Group (Originally in English)

[Portland] On October 18 and 19, Golden Year 5 (2008), the local initiates reserved a display booth at the Body, Mind & Spirit Expo in the Oregon Convention Center to distribute SOS flyers, inform the public about Supreme Master Television, and provide information on the Quan Yin Method. Many people asked questions concerning global warming and expressed interest in becoming vegetarian, while others signed up for our upcoming local seminars. They were touched by how our disciples reach out in such a personal way and share everything unconditionally.

To a dad who has five foster children and one of his own, the initiates gave him The Birds in My Life, hoping it would bring joy to his blessed family. Quite a few people expressed their admiration of the special T-shirts the initiates were wearing with slogans such as “Love me, please don’t eat me” and “Be Veg, Go Green, Save the Planet.” Two initiates actually gave their T-shirts to these “fans”! The SOS movie and Master’s lecture played attracted many souls. A qigong and tai chi practitioner asked many questions about the Quan Yin Method. One lady who agreed with the message wholeheartedly took all kinds of flyers, some slogan stickers and a “Be Veg, Go Green, Save the Planet” T-shirt to help spread the vegetarian solution to the world.

The Body Mind & Spirit Expo was a great experience for the initiates and they appreciated Master’s blessing that had touched many sincere hearts.

Students and Teachers Welcome
the Vegetarian Message

By Illinois News Group (Originally in English)

[Illinois] On October 23, Golden Year 5 (2008), Association representatives were invited by Ms. Wynetta Newman, a health education teacher at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep High School, to give a presentation on the benefits of a vegetarian diet to 200 freshmen at the school. Ms. Newman first met our Association members at the Green Festival in Chicago this past summer. After reviewing the materials we offered on the vegetarian diet, Ms. Newman felt the information would be very beneficial for her students; so she invited the initiates to make a presentation on this subject.

During the presentation, our Association members explained why a vegetarian diet would bring great benefit to our health and help save our planet; they also showed the detrimental impact of the meat diet. Because Thanksgiving was near, they played a clip from Supreme Master Television’s “Animal Cruelty” series: “The Terrible Treatment of Turkeys.” The students were very attentive during the presentation and were shocked to see the cruel treatment of turkeys. Afterwards, they tried the surprisingly delicious vegan sandwiches and vegan “unbeef” jerky served by the initiates. Later, other teachers told Ms. Newman that when the students went to other classes, they kept talking about the presentation and many said they wanted to become a vegetarian!

Impressed by the informative presentation, another health education teacher, Mr. Roger Ragsdale, asked the initiates to come back the next day to hold another workshop for 50 teachers. Satisfied by the mind-opening experience, several teachers expressed their intention to arrange similar presentations for their students. In particular, Ms. Constance Turner-Burkes, who told the initiates that after watching the “The Terrible Treatment of Turkeys,” she “just can’t do the turkey-thing anymore.” She will share the knowledge gained from the workshop with her friends.

The initiates felt grateful for God’s wonderful arrangement and were very encouraged by the positive responses from students and teachers. They pray to be good tools for God so more and more people can receive the message of the compassionate vegetarian diet and the dream of a turkey-free Thanksgiving and cruelty-free world will soon come true.

The Groton Fall Festival

[Connecticut] On the weekend of October 11, Golden Year 5 (2008), our Association members participated in the Groton Fall Festival, to spread the urgent message of “Be Veg, Go Green, Save Our Planet.” They shared vegan cooking books with the festival-goers and also directed them to Supreme Master Television for more vegetarian/vegan nutrition information and cooking shows. Many people stopped by to read the information carefully and some were amazed by Master’s bestselling books, The Birds in My Life and The Noble Wilds. A few lucky ones received free copies as presents!

The initiates also had the chance to talk to surprise visitor, State Congressman Joe Courtney, and explained to him their concerns about the detrimental effects of the meat industry to people’s health and the planet. The Congressman appreciated that the initiates came out to spread this meaningful information to the public and happily accepted Master’s book The Noble Wilds as a gift. He promised to bring their urges to the President and to apply the concepts of sustainable living to leadership!

The Vegetarian Food Festival

[Boston] On November 1, thousands of people enjoyed World Vegan Day at the 13th Annual Boston Vegetarian Food Festival. Visitors learned lots of the latest and most useful information on nutrition, travel tips, cooking tips, and research results from various speakers. Many people shared with Association members how they turned to vegetarianism. One lady said even though it’s not convenient to be vegan, she won’t turn back to the meat diet because of her love for animals. A 13-year-old girl was very proud to be an example of a vegan in her class. One lady from an animal protection organization liked the SOS flyers and wanted to pass them out to more people in New Hampshire.

The atmosphere at the event was so blissful that it reminded everyone of Master’s words that when the majority of people on this planet are vegetarian, the whole atmosphere will be like paradise!
