High-Profile Figures Advocate Veg Diet

By Prague News Group (Originally in Czech)

[Prague] On October 5, Golden Year 5 (2008), the Czech fellow initiates greeted visitors to the fifth annual Vegetarian Day in Prague with highly useful information on vegetarianism, animal protection and global warming. Their effort was openly endorsed by Mr. Ing. Richard J. Barták, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture. “Decrease considerably your meat consumption or cancel it totally and become vegans or at least vegetarians,” said Mr. Barták, who promoted organic farming while in office. Visitors learned much about the veg diet and global warming, showed great interest in the bestselling books by Supreme Master Ching Hai and enjoyed the excellent vegetarian delicacies prepared by the initiates.

The event was highlighted by an award ceremony chaired by Mr. Petr Vachler, the Director of the Czech Film and Television Academy and a vegetarian and protector of animals. Mr. Petr Vachler was pleased to play this role, saying, “Now I only look for the one way – how to spread vegetarianism more.” The Vegetarians of the Year Award went to a married couple who prevented the construction of a factory pig farm with a planned capacity of about ten thousand pigs; the Czech translation of John Robbins’ book Nová výživa (The Food Revolution) won the Book of the Year; and the newly established Vegfood operated by Czech initiates was named Vegetarian Restaurant of the Year! The day was concluded with an SOS video on global warming produced by Supreme Master Television.

On October 24, the local initiates hosted an event in their VegFood restaurant to officially introduce the SOS DVDs to the representatives of the major green, vegetarian and animal protection organizations. The DVD contains the most important and urgent information on global warming compiled from Supreme Master TV programs, making the case that vegetarianism is the most efficient solution. So far, 12,000 copies of this DVD have been produced to be shared with all civil offices and organizations, ministries and public groups.
