Ms. Hall and her adopted children

For the last 20 years, Ms. Eleanor Hall has fostered 150 children and adopted 8 with the love of a mother. She was honored as “Point of Light” winner by Governor Charlie Crist of Florida for exemplary public service. On January 18, Golden Year 5 (2008), she was awarded the Shining World Compassion Award by Supreme Master Ching Hai.

The award ceremony took place in Heartland for Children in Bartow in front of Ms. Hall’s adopted children, the working staff and the local media. Ms. Hall happily received the crystal plaque from our Association members from the Florida Center while expressing her great honor and deep gratitude to Master. A US$5,000 check from Master as well as some of Her publications including The Birds in My Life were also given to Ms. Hall as a token of appreciation for all the love and care that she has given to those needy children.

At the interview afterwards, Ms. Hall shared with everyone how she managed to provide the much needed love, care and attention to all these children while working as a full-time teacher. She loves each and every boy and girl as her own child. By looking at the joy and happiness on the adopted children’s faces, it was obvious that they adore this loving and completely dedicated woman whom they are so proud to call mom and that they live in a family bound by love!
