Positive Improvements on the Planet

on the War between Israel
and Hezbollah Guerrillas

Recently I showed the Italian movie “Life is Beautiful” to my students at a juvenile detention center. The film describes how a man saves his wife and son from the Nazi holocaust. My students were shocked by the insane actions of the Nazis.

At the same time, the media was full of news from the war in Middle East, as well as conflicts in different parts of the world. My students kept telling me that World War III would break out soon. On the contrary, I kept telling them, “I will bet anyone of you that the world will become more loving and peaceful!” They didn’t believe me; they thought I was living in a dream-world. I didn’t know how to convince them. I only knew that because the world’s consciousness has been elevated, our earth would become a paradise in the near future. Unfortunately, I am short of solid evidence for my view point.

Some time later, the United Nations unanimously passed a resolution to stop the war between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas. Some 15,000 peacekeepers from around the world would be sent to southern Lebanon to help pacify the region when Israeli troops withdraw. Three days after the resolution passed Lebanon was finally at peace. The din of rockets and guns faded away; instead, fire crackers rang out in the streets of Lebanon. Southern Lebanese could finally return home with both joy and sorrow. During the five weeks’ war, over one thousand people were killed, many more left homeless. It was a nightmare for many Lebanese and Israelis alike.

Watching the joyful moment of cease fire, every student in the class was touched by the happiness of the Lebanese people. They were relieved that the cloud of war had finally passed over. Peaceful angels finally came back to the region. After the news, I told my students, our world would become more and more beautiful; it would become a peaceful and loving planet. The students were silent. I further explained to them, more and more people around the world are awakened and working together to bring peace to every corner of our planet. The loving energy grows stronger and gradually replaces the energy of hatred and violence collected from the past. As a result, diplomatic rather than military means are used to resolve conflicts between different nationalities. Nowadays people tend to approach these problems in a more peaceful manner. A holocaust like that of World War II will never be allowed to happen again.

At the beginning of this war, most Arab and Western countries thought Israel was right to stand up to Hezbollah’s kidnapping action. As the war continued, the death and destruction caused the whole world to awaken. War is not the solution! It’s an uncivilized action. Upon viewing the suffering of Lebanese people, people around the world could not tolerate such barbarous actions anymore. With the pressure from their people, many countries around the world started condemning Israel’s actions. The international pressure forced Israel as well as its supporters to finally accept the resolution for peace.

This somehow shows the consciousness of the whole world continuing to rise. I believe the days with no war and no suffering will come eventually when all inhabitants of the planet have learned to love each other.
