A Gift of Books Opens the Road to Home

Sister Yingshuo Zeng is an elementary teacher. Since her early childhood, she has been perplexed by questions about life: What is the purpose of life? When could people be liberated from this boring and humdrum life? Under the influence of her Christian parents, she began attending church services at a very young age. She often prayed to God, but without heartfelt conviction she didn’t know if her prayers or requests were heard.

The situation changed last year, when she had a chance to read about Master’s teachings from books contributed by the Taipei Center to her school library in Sinjhuang. After reading Master’s books, sister Zeng began to observe a vegetarian diet, contacted the local Center, and eventually learned the Convenient Method of meditation in May last year.

The practice changed her life dramatically. She felt that God was answering every sincere wish she made. For example, every time she prayed, “God, please give me a parking space,” her prayer would be answered immediately. Moreover, every time she searched for a vegetarian restaurant, no matter where she was, even in a strange and remote area, God always fulfilled her wish. God had never failed her. “Unbelievable!” sister Zeng exclaimed. She deeply feels that God has truly taken care of everything for her ever since she began following Master.

Her spiritual practice and shift to a vegetarian diet have also affected the two rabbits kept by her family. Instead of warily approaching her only when she had food to entice them, the rabbits now voluntarily curl up at her feet. They waste no time picking up the blessed food that she brings home from the local Center and having her open the wrapping for them. Having been graced with God’s constant care for her, sister Zeng requested initiation into the Quan Yin Method in July this year. She is now waiting for the initiation.

Thanks to Master’s ingenious arrangement, the precious gifts of books have led a lost sheep onto the homeward path. We believe that in the not too distant future, many more people like sister Zeng will find their own ways to reconnect with God and begin their homebound journey to the heavenly kingdom.
