Master Says

We Are Really the Children of God

Spoken by Supreme Master Ching Hai, London, England,

God has revealed to me that you are not to blame yourself for being sinful. Do not look down upon yourself, because you are the children of God. Whatever happens, it has to happen. And if we don’t like what happens, we can change. If we don’t like our personality, if we don’t like the way we live our life, if we don’t like to live in darkness - then we can change that! We change to become a better person; we change to a different lifestyle; we change to become more loving and more understanding. And if we cannot do it by ourselves, we turn to God. We turn to God by going inside, into the Kingdom of God within us. Then let God teach us; let God change us; let God guide our life into a better direction, more suitable for the child of God that we expect ourselves to be.

Do you know what a child of God is? Can you think about it? It’s not just the words, but the meaning of it, the weight of it! God is the most powerful person in this whole universe, and we are Hiers child! It even mentions in the Bible that “God made man in Hiers own image.” It’s everywhere: The Buddha also told us, “I am the Buddha. You are the Buddha of the future.” “You have Buddha nature inside you.” The Christians tell us, “You have the Kingdom of God within you.” And yet we never know that. We live our life day to day, hand to mouth and sometimes we don’t even have enough for our necessities.

All this makes us frustrated, and we become angry with each other. We become very agitated for no reason, just because somewhere in this subconscious we still remember the life in Heaven that we left behind long ago. Over there we had everything; we were powerful. There, whatever we think, we have; whatever we think, becomes. But here, we have to beg for food, literally! We work ten hours, we’re so tired, sometimes so sick and still have to work, just because we have to feed the body. The body even makes trouble for us, and then we have to leave it behind after some time. So that’s why Jesus said, “Lay not your treasures on earth where moth and insects can destroy, “but lay the treasures upon Heaven where you can have them forever.”

When we have a chance to go to Heaven, the higher we go, the less we feel attached to this world. We come back and we still go to work, we still discharge our duty, but we no longer feel the slavery of life pounding upon us. We feel no longer the frustration of the struggle of not knowing why we have to work so hard. We still continue to work, and we will know everything. We will know why life is so. And God will teach us many more interesting things, that the mundane level of problems, the anxiety and the worry, will leave us because they are so insignificant compared to what we know in Heaven. The true Self and the true Home will make us feel that we don’t need anything here because we simply, we don’t belong here.

So, do not undermine your heavenly goodness and position in the universe. You are really the children of God! And if you work at it to recognize your true Self again, in no time, you’ll leave all the suffering behind, or the suffering will not even affect you. That’s why when Jesus was nailed on the cross, He didn’t cry or beg for mercy. He didn’t even want to run away. He could have! He could have run away to hide Himself. But He did not, because He didn’t care. He knew the time had come. To God’s will, He surrendered. So He said, “Oh Father, how you glorify me.” He did not beg for mercy or anything, because nothing affected Him anymore; He had reached Oneness with God. The physical suffered, but His soul was always with God.
