Accompanying God’s Children through Their Growth

Xiaolong (a pseudonym) is 16 years old. He was born in a wealthy family. Both of his parents have advanced education and are serving as executive officers in technology companies. However, with the long-term stress from the educational system and the high expectations from his parents, Xiaolong, who was going through a rebellious period, dropped out of the American school he was enrolled in and his relationship with his parents also deteriorated. Eventually he left home. His parents and aunties were very anxious and worried but had no way to help.

One day, through the connection of a friend, Xiaolong came to Sister Yen’s house to work. In the beginning, he had a vacant look in his eyes, he swayed while walking, and always kept his head lowered. Whatever you asked him he always answered, “I don’t know.” Since Sister Yen’s husband works in music, Xiaolong felt pretty comfortable staying there, and only occasionally went to the Internet Cafeteria privately to forget himself while surfing the web or playing games. When his parents would come to see him, he would immediately hide in the bathroom and his parents could only leave with tears.

Sister Yen treated him as a friend. Sometimes she persuaded him with gentle words and sometimes with a serious manner. Both soft and hard ways were employed. She even invented a funny dancing music called, “I don’t know,” which won Xiaolong’s precious smile. Recently, following Master’s instruction, fellow initiates went to different places to distribute Alternative Living flyers. With an excuse of doing physical exercises, Sister Yen invited him to drop the flyers into mailboxes together. Half a year passed and gradually, Xiaolong became more and more vigorous and more and more smiles would appear on his face. One day, he finally agreed to attend another school and take music as his major, and furthermore he returned his parents’ home.

Sister Yen and her sister recalled that Xiaolong was born with excellent aptitudes but he was reclusive and rebellious.  Since he participated in Master’s work and adhered to a vegetarian diet along with Sister Yen, he changed greatly. The sisters are so happy to see that he had returned to his normal healthy family life and they silently pray that he will have an extra beautiful future.
