Report from Japan

Promotes Compassionate Food Diet,
Creating a New Vegetarian Era

By Tokyo News Group (Originally in Japanese)

Local initiates have made a quick and successful start on distributing the “Alternative Living” flyers in Japan, delighted that they seem to be riding a “magic” escalator arranged by God. After a discussion about distributing the flyer, they decided that the Tokyo Center initiates would focus on the capital city and its suburbs, home to nearly one-third of Japan’s population of 120 million, while the Gunma Center initiates would cover the rest of the country.

After group meditation every Sunday, Tokyo initiates divide into five groups and proceed to crowded public areas distributing the pamphlets. On weekdays, each initiate does his/her share around his/her workplace, covering people on the way home or to work. The initiates also drop the leaflets in their neighbors’ mailboxes and place them in vegetarian restaurants. The owner of a vegetarian restaurant near the Tokyo Center has eagerly joined in the work, sharing the message with his customers. At another vegetarian restaurant, business has been brisk since the flyers have been available for pickup and perusal.

Initiates who live in Osaka, Kyushu, Okayama, Iwate, Gifu and Kobe are also earnestly distributing flyers in their hometowns. Tokyo initiates are fully geared up to continue sharing Master’s loving message with more people.

Kyushu

By Tokyo News Group (Originally in Japanese)

Kyushu in southern Japan does not have a local center, but its residents have received Master’s message on “Alternative Living” through pamphlets distributed by a sister living there. For three days in the middle of February, an initiate from the Gunma Center came to Kumamoto to support her. Initiates ferried across the sea to Shimabara City in Nagasaki Prefecture and Saga Prefecture to distribute the pamphlets around shopping centers, movie theaters, and recreational areas. Most of the local residents expressed gratitude upon receiving the flyers.

On the second morning, the initiates set out for Kagoshima. For the driver initiate, days of long hours on the road brought on a splitting headache by the time they arrived at their destination. After a brief respite, she felt much better and began to distribute the leaflets to pedestrians. Amazingly, her headache and depressed spirit slowly faded away, replaced by a warm revitalizing energy. The more she went about her work, the more energy she had to continue distributing the pamphlets. Within an hour, she was her usual self again.

The Japanese practitioners then headed for Miyazaki. Despite the freezing temperatures, most of the local people pulled their hands out from their pockets and thankfully received the leaflets. Initiates also dropped flyers in mailboxes in Nobeoka. It was already two in the morning when initiates arrived in Oita. In order not to disturb the local people’s sleep, they quietly dropped flyers in mailboxes. Their action on the silent night was reminiscent of Santa Claus delivering Christmas presents. They felt joyful and fulfilled.

It was a sleepless night for the initiates, and one of them rushed back to her regular job in Kumamoto at peak hours in the morning. Another one went back to Gunma. They thanked Master for Her blessing and grace that their work was carried out successfully.

Gunma

By Gunma News Group (Originally in Japanese)

After receiving Master’s instruction and holding a discussion with Tokyo Center, Gunma initiates traveled across Japan to promote the vegetarian diet. To-date, the Gunma Center has shared the message of “Alternative Living” with 42 of Japan’s 47 prefectures in a number of ways, as listed below.

1. Distribution at crowded public areas such as transport terminals and shopping and exhibition centers
2. Door-to-door mailbox delivery
3. Distribution as a newspaper insert by newspaper delivery services
4. Entrusting the flyers to the stores run by initiates and to local vegetarian restaurants for them to share with their customers.
5. Displaying as posters on cars or luggage for people to see.
6. Distribution as writing pads to students by initiates who are teachers or on the administrative staff working at schools
7. Placing the flyers in churches and on tables in vegetarian restaurants and cafeterias.
8. Sending Master’s comic book God Takes Care of Everything and the flyers to 100 primary schools on outlying islands as gifts.
9. Displaying on school bulletin boards.

The distribution project covered a 3,500km (2,175 mile) route in Japan, extending from the cold north that was blanketed by 4 meters of snow to the southern islands of verdant green lying amidst azure waters. Although the initiates encountered snowstorms and traffic obstructions, their persistence in finding a new route helped them accomplish their plan. The stiffness brought on by the winter cold did not stop them from distributing the flyers hour after hour; nor did the hoarseness from speaking too much dampen their high spirits or erase their smiles. This was because they are blessed with Master’s Love.

Fellow initiates on this long journey also paid special attention to areas that had suffered severe disaster or war in the past. As always, Master takes perfect care of everything. The initiates never failed to receive timely assistance from local inhabitants. On one occasion, some women joined the initiates in shouting to passersby: “The flyer contains interesting information. You don’t want to miss it!” Some enthusiastic volunteer workers offered to distribute the flyers at their volunteer posts. Taxi drivers directed and assisted initiates in dropping flyers into local people’s mailboxes. Some homeless people exclaimed, “We have to start eating tofu now!” Although it was the first time that initiates had visited these remote areas, they had no difficulty finding vegetarian food.

When they arrived on an island once occupied by foreign forces, they set a deadline for covering the entire region from south to north and west to east. With Master’s love, they met their goal, which local people considered impossible. They realized why Master had sent them to the island when they met an old couple who ran a local store. Solemn and divine looking, they read Master’s flyer carefully and noted in their diary the flyer’s slogan and time of arrival of the initiates. Deep down, the initiates knew then why Master had led them there.

Like dandelion seeds that spread far and wide as the wind blows, the pamphlets distributed by Gunma initiates have also planted in people’s hearts, Master’s loving reminder to follow a vegetarian diet.

What can human beings do to deal with repeated outbreaks of epidemic diseases? To address this question and save the lives of countless animals, Master has personally compiled a concise article complete with colorful illustrations entitled “Alternative Living”, providing basic information about vegetarian alternatives to the meat-based diet and a list of the “Vegetarian and Vegan Elite of the World.”
