[Paris] On September 8 and 9, 2002, violent floods struck the south of France, and numerous persons were reported missing. More than 20 victims died in the floods. The water reached a depth of three meters in some areas, as violent thunderstorms swept the region. In the aftermath of the storm, many villages remained without water, gas, electricity and telephone services for several days.

After hearing news of the flooding, the Paris Center of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association immediately sent a contribution of 1000 Euros through the city of Ales's Floods Solidarity Association, in order to help the residents, who had been severely affected by the floods. ...
