By Brisbane News Group, Australia (Originally in English)

Professor Max Lu of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Functional Nanomaterials at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, and his research team have discovered a groundbreaking, cost-effective method of capturing the sun’s rays and converting them into energy. Titanium oxide crystal materials are used to generate clean energy by absorbing sunlight and transforming it into electricity. The crystals can be sprayed onto a flat surface producing a more efficient and cost-effective solar panel. The principal of how this material works to produce electricity can also be utilized to purify air and water. The world can expect a dramatic reduction in energy costs with this pioneering invention.

Supreme Master Ching Hai honored Professor Max Lu and his research team with the Shining World Inventor Award for developing this innovative method of acquiring solar energy and for adapting it to water and air purification in everyday use. Our Association members from Brisbane presented the beautiful plaque and some of Master’s latest publications, DVDs and CDs to Professor Lu and his team, on behalf of Supreme Master Ching Hai, at the University of Queensland, on December 19, Golden Year 5 (2008). The Professor was extremely grateful for the Award and gifts saying, “Please thank Supreme Master Ching Hai. I really appreciate this recognition. Thank you.”

May heaven bless Professor Max Lu, his dedicated staff and all their noble work that brings much benefit to the environment and preserves our planet’s precious resources.
