Students Enjoy Educational Seminars on
the Vegetarian Diet

[Busan] In December of Golden Year 4 (2007), Busan National University and the “Peace Dwelling Table” invited initiates from the Busan Center to give lectures on vegetarianism.

The lecture at the university took place on December 4 in a grand conference hall. Fellow initiates assisted brother Ko, a member of the Life Love Practical Vegetarian Association, in his presentation which included a video on vegetarianism and an elaborate explanation of the logic behind this compassionate diet. When asked if they would like to follow a vegetarian diet at the end of the lecture, more than half of the 340 students attending raised their hands. Following the lecture, fellow initiates who are also graduates of the university shared with the audience their great experiences in keeping this diet, as well as distributing Alternative Living and Supreme Master TV flyers. Afterwards, specially prepared vegetarian lunch boxes were very excitedly received by the students. One student expressed his wish to run a vegetarian business some day.

Lecture at "Peace Dwelling Table"

“Peace Dwelling Table” is one of the consumer groups that launched the healthy home diet movement. On December 12, many people from diverse fields such as food research experts and medical care professionals attended the lecture given by a sister initiate. Throughout the lecture the audience was constantly nodding in agreement and later many acknowledged that the vegetarian diet is indeed very important in maintaining healthy, happy families and a peaceful society. The lecture concluded with a joyful concert that filled everyone’s heart with love and kindness.

 

 

Spreading Vegetarianism in Food Tour Expo

[Daegu] Fellow initiates participated in the annual Daegu Food Tour Expo for the 3rd time from November, 15 to 18, Golden Year 4 (2007), to promote vegetarianism. Being one of the most popular events, this expo aims to discover and share the best dishes and their recipes with the local area. The colorful sampling foods displayed in the initiates’ booth caught many visitors’ attention. Many people like Master’s teaching. A lady running a traditional restaurant requested a vegetarian recipe book for the displayed dishes. A Catholic nun who regularly cooks food for more than 200 people intended to start serving vegetarian foods. A monk, who had visited their booth, returned the next day with many of his friends so that they could learn about vegetarianism.

There were growing interest in the vegetarian diet from the visitors many of whom were already vegetarians. Through the event, the Daegu initiates could sense the dawning of the era of peace.
