Christmas Presents for Our Animal Friends

By Seoul News Group (Originally in Korean)

On December 20, Golden Year 4 (2007), Korean fellow initiates presented 3.5 tons of healthy vegan dog food and a financial contribution to three of the most needy animal shelters in Korea. One of them was the Happy Nest in Pyeongtaek, where over 200 stray dogs take refuge. Since the shelter was in financial difficulty, the dogs have suffered various illnesses.

Kye Young Kim, the owner of the shelter, told the fellow initiates that she had prayed for a miracle because the food was running out, and the miracle really happened. She felt thankful and was encouraged to carry on with her work. She also appealed to the people around the world through Supreme Master TV not to abandon their pet friends when they are sick or old, but to take care of them till they die.

The fellow initiates were thankful to God for the opportunity to be able to give some love to our animal friends at this time of the year.

Sharing Healthy Vegetarian Kimchi with the Needy

In order to provide tastier and healthier vegetarian kimchi to needy people, the Korean fellow initiates have been cultivating organic cabbage on the land near the Youngdong Center since last spring. Thanks to God’s blessing, the harvest was very good this year.

With about 1,000 head of cabbages, 500 radishes, and other environmentally friendly fruits and herbs, the Korean initiates made over 100 boxes of kimchi at the Youngdong Center. They were delivered to different locations to be distributed to the neediest people around the country, including the physically challenged, so that they could enjoy the delicious and healthy dish during the holiday season.

Bringing Master’s Love to Esder's House

By Andong News Group (Originally in Korean)

Esder’s House is a social welfare organization managed by the government. It accommodates about 30 single mothers and 40 orphans. On January 4, Golden Year 5 (2008), fellow initiates from the Andong Center visited Esder’s House, bringing with them a dozen delicious nutritious vegetarian gourmet dishes. Everyone, including the director of the House, enjoyed the meal and felt grateful to receive such a special Christmas gift. The director was interested in our Association and asked many questions about meditation and vegetarianism. One of the staff wanted to know where to buy the vegetarian ham. Master’s sample booklets and leaflets printed with the Alternative Living message and Supreme Master TV information were placed in a corner of the dining room for people to browse and take. It was a good chance to share Master’s love with the members of Esder’s House.

Master’s Love Restores Smiles to
North Korean People

By Korea News Group (Originally in Korean)

Upon hearing of the food shortage caused by the previous flood in North Korea in November 2007, Supreme Master Ching Hai immediately sent US$20,000 to help the victims. Her generous aid followed an earlier contribution of US$30,000 for them in September. This latest contribution was used to purchase flour, as suggested by the Inter-Korea Civil Organization Council.

On November 30, the Korean relief team delivered 55 tons of flour to Gaeseong, packed in 2,750 bags and loaded onto three trucks. Each flour bag carried The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association’s name and logo. Also team members traveled in a separate van with the Association’s emblem on it for the first time, signaling a major step forward in North Korea.

Fellow initiates thank Master for providing us with the means to enable this delivery of love, bringing smiles again to the North Korean people. We wish the North Korean people a blessed and comfortable winter.
