Dr. Roberto Ridolfi receives the Shining World Leadership Award in his office at the European Commission in Brussels.

On December 12, Golden Year 4 (2007), Belgium initiates in Brussels had the honor of meeting with Dr. Roberto Ridolfi, Head of the European Commission’s Delegation for the Pacific. On behalf of Supreme Master Ching Hai, they presented him with the Shining World Leadership Award for the European Union’s outstanding humanitarian deeds in Pacific nations.

The European Union has donated €276 million for renewable energy projects in 13 Pacific nations, which represent one third of our planet’s total area. By sharing its wealth with developing nations for these eco-friendly initiatives, the European Union offers a noble example of generosity that at the same time benefits our entire planet.

Dr. Ridolfi spoke enthusiastically about the achievements of the European Union in helping establish environmental policies in the South Pacific and said he was happy to have taken part in these activities. He was so overjoyed and honored to receive the award that he invited his two secretaries into the office to see it. He said he would share it with his colleagues and find a special place for it in his office.

Gifts were also presented, including Supreme Master Ching Hai’s latest books, The Birds in My Life and The Dogs in My Life, along with a book of Master’s art collections as well as DVDs and CDs. Dr. Ridolfi expressed his delight and appreciation for the gifts.

At the end of the interview Dr. Ridolfi expressed his wish for a peaceful world, saying, “Look at our children. Just imagine what the world would be like for our children, and let’s behave accordingly.”

We truly thank Dr. Ridolfi and his staff for the lovely meeting and wish that all developed nations are similarly inspired to give in this meaningful way, benefiting the recipients and also helping to preserve our beautiful world.
