On
November 21, Golden Year 9 (2012), the world was relieved
to hear the Gaza ceasefire agreement had been reached between
Israel and Hamas. The agreement was announced by Egyptian
Foreign Minister His Excellency Mohamed Kamel Amr in a joint
news conference with the United States Secretary of State
Her Excellency Hillary Rodham Clinton in Cairo. Many Palestinians
in Gaza took to the streets to celebrate the truce after eight
days of attacks. The agreement came after a day of negotiations
that included the U.S Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,
Egyptian President His Excellency Mohamed Morsi and Palestinian
officials. Secretary Clinton had been travelling between Egypt,
Israel and the occupied West Bank to help negotiate the agreement.
President Morsi, who took the office at the end of June, has
won praise for his instrumental role in helping to bring about
peace in this region.

Her sincere appreciation to Her Excellency Secretary Clinton
and His Excellency President Morsi for their historical work
to secure a state of peace in the turbulent situation, Supreme
