Q:
Can an initiate's child learn the Convenient
Method when he has already received half-initiation? How old should he be to
learn it?
M: Don't teach
children to meditate. Children may not learn the Convenient Method. If the parents
are initiated, their children may receive half-initiation at the age of six
or above, and full initiation at the age of twelve or above. Otherwise, they
have to wait until they are sixteen to learn the meditation. (That means only
those aged sixteen or older may learn the Convenient Method.)
Q
:Can one meditate for more than half
an hour if one is practicing the Convenient Method?
M: One daily
half-hour of meditation is enough. It is safest this way. If one wants to meditate
more, one may request initiation. For Convenient Method practitioners, thirty
minutes is good enough. It means thirty minutes in total a day. It doesn't mean
thirty minutes per session, or thirty minutes in the morning and another thirty
minutes in the evening.
Q
:The third level is the world beyond
cause and effect. Does that mean that one is completely beyond karma once one
attains that level?
M: One doesn't
have the past or future karma anymore, but will still have the fixed karma.
Some of our Quan Yin Method practitioners have already attained the third level,
and they are still in this world because of their fixed karma. But when they
meditate or sleep, they are in the third level; this is just like having dual
citizenship in this world.
Q:
:Does that mean when one reaches
that level, one will not be affected by one's doings or incur karma?
M: Even when
you have gone beyond cause and effect, if you deliberately commit new karma,
or kill a person, you still have to bear the consequences.
