Between Master And Disciples

Mother's  Gaze

By Teddy Bear, Cambodia

On one afternoon with bright sunshine and a gentle breeze, Master personally mixed some refreshing soft drinks and invited everyone to share them under the big outdoor umbrellas. A few sisters who looked a bit shy were always grabbing any chance to take something in and out of the kitchen. It seemed as though they were very busy. Suddenly, I looked up and saw Master's sparkling eyes gazing at us like a mother who always pays attention to her children and is deeply concerned about their every move. My heart was at peace and I could breathe easier. My soul was comforted because I was basking in Master's love.

Just before the feast was over, Master spoke a sentence, "Group meditation is over." I suddenly realized that every moment that we really throw ourselves into our work, concentrate on what we are doing at hand, and at the same time enjoy every minute of it, that is meditation -- walking, resting, sitting, lying are all Zen
