Thank you letter from Gary White, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Water.org.

Matt Damon, Academy Award-winning actor and founder of the charity H2O Africa, has co-founded another new charity called Water.org with Gary White, Executive Director of the non-profit group WaterPartners. The goal of the new organization is to provide safe drinking water and sanitation to hundreds of millions of people in developing countries. Currently, the organization works on nearly every continent and in many countries including India, Haiti and Ethiopia. In addition, a partnership-building process is put in place to ensure that once a well is built, it will be maintained and truly will improve the lives of the people.

In teaming up with WaterPartners, Mr. Damon explained how “every 15 seconds, a child in the developing world dies from a water-related disease . . . . As a clear leader in the sector at delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for those in need, WaterPartners was the natural choice with whom to work to truly affect lasting change.”

In recognition of this noble enterprise, Supreme Master Ching Hai contributed $50,000 to Water.org, which our Missouri Center initiates had the privilege to present to Mr. Damon at their headquarters along with a letter of salute from Supreme Master Ching Hai and a selection of Her recent publications on October 12, Golden Year 6 (2009). Our Association members were welcomed graciously by Chief Operating Officer Mike McCamon, Senior Communications Manager Nicole Wickenhauser and other staff at Warter.org, who were deeply touched by Master’s generosity and love.

May Heaven bless Mr. Matt Damon and all those at Water.org for their tireless efforts in bringing clean drinking water to all the beautiful citizens of planet Earth. We pray that many lives will continue to be touched by this loving partnership.
