One World Festival to Promote Cultural Diversity
By UK News Group (Originally in English)

[Chelmsford] On May 3, Golden Year 7 (2010), a celebration of the diverse cultures in Essex County, East of England, was held in Central Park, Chelmsford, UK, where people of different ethnic backgrounds such as Polish, Pakistani, Chinese, East Indian, African, Caribbean and Bangladeshi gathered together to sing, dance, tell stories, display crafts, and enjoy food.

Our Association members from the Surrey, London and Ipswich Centers took the opportunity and attended this event to distribute SOS flyers, DVDs and other information about climate change, healthy living as well as meditation practice. Many people were amazed by the delicious vegan food samples and were happy to receive a list of supermarkets, health food shops and internet sites where they can purchase the vegan ingredients. Two of our fellow initiates also held workshops on the ancient Chinese Art of Tai Chi and physical fitness, highlighting the importance of a meat-free diet in a person’s well being.

The evening ended with a rousing concert of Cuban and Jamaican mix of music by Ska Cubano. Many local communities and organizations expressed interest in the climate change awareness program offered by our Association members and invited them to give lectures and seminars in the future.
