Ocean Angels Raise Funds to Promote Breast Cancer Care
By London News Group (Originally in English)

From April to July, Golden Year 6 (2009), courageous Englishwomen Sarah Duff, Fiona Waller, Jo Jackson, and Elin Half, known as the “Ocean Angels,” rowed 3,100 nautical miles across the Indian Ocean in their 29-foot rowboat Pura Vida (Pure Life) to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Care charity group. Fiona herself was diagnosed with cancer around her 30th birthday and after being given the “all clear” by her doctors, decided to work to raise awareness and to generate money to help others in her situation. To aid the charity, the women rowed non-stop for 78 days from Australia to Mauritius, arriving at the latter on July 6.

Thank you letter and receipt from the Ocean Angels

Upon learning of their courageous, challenging, and compassionate act, Supreme Master Ching Hai was profoundly moved and sent the Ocean Angels US$ 10,000 on August 19 to be used by Breast Cancer Care. Ms. Waller was deeply grateful to Master for Her generosity and sent a loving thank you letter expressing her appreciation. She wrote, “We have been overwhelmed by the level of support we have received from people such as yourself, without which we would not be able to contribute to this fantastic charity which makes such a difference to those living with breast cancer.”

We thank the staff of Breast Cancer Care for their fantastic work supporting people living with breast cancer.

Master’s Gift Brings Health Care Technology to Indian Children in Need
By London News Group (Originally in English)

A smiley face ThermoSpot on Mr. Zeal’s palm indicates that his body temperature is normal.

In March, Golden Year 6 (2009), Supreme Master Ching Hai contributed US$10,000 to Mr. John Zeal to support his Christian charity by supplying ThermoSpot to assist The Asha Community Health and Development Society in their tremendous humanitarian activities in the slums of New Delhi, India.

ThermoSpot is a non-invasive hypothermia indicator, developed by Mr. Zeal whose family firm has been making thermometers since 1888. This new invention has been certified for use in developing countries for children. There is an enormous potential demand for such an improved device, especially in those countries since the conventional glass/mercury clinical thermometer is now banned throughout North America and the EU for environmental reasons. According to Mr. Zeal, ThermoSpot has already saved the lives of a number of newborns and empowered mothers to check if their babies are warm enough immediately following birth.

Receipt and thank you letter from Mr. John Zeal for the US$10,000 contribution by Master.

In his emails to our London Center, Mr. Zeal said he had been praying to God for help, and his prayers were answered through Master. He added, “The Supreme Master has lifted me right up. I am immensely grateful.”

We thank Mr. Zeal for his loving care for children in developing countries. May many more children benefit from his life-saving invention.
