Mr. Aaron Scheibner, a young Australian filmmaker, is on a noble mission for animals and humans alike. He directed and produced the documentary “A Delicate Balance-The Truth.” The film explores the reality about how our food choices affect our health and the environment. It presents scientific evidence suggesting that a plant-based (vegan) diet is the optimum lifestyle choice for good health as well as environmental sustainability. The film was self-funded through the generosity of Aaron’s family and friends, and was co-written by Aaron’s mother, Dr. Adrianna Scheibner, a medical doctor and a vegan. She also narrated the film. A Delicate Balance-The Truth features well known medical doctors including Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of the best-selling book “The China Study,” Dr. Neal Barnard, President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and author of “Food for Life” and “Dr. Neal Barnard’s Program For Reversing Diabetes,” and Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr., author of “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease.” In 2008, this remarkable film toured Australian cinemas in most major capital cities and in 2009, it is scheduled to be shown in several US and Australian universities free of charge. These include Harvard University, Cornell University, Princeton University and Thomas Jefferson University. Aaron is currently in the US conducting the tour.  Many people who have viewed the film have been profoundly touched by the information presented and have consequently adopted a vegan diet, whilst others have become vegetarian or dramatically reduced their meat and dairy consumption. The film has been nominated for several awards including Best Unreleased Documentary in Australia for 2008. Recently in March 2009 it received the Green Apple Award for Outstanding Contribution to a Sustainable Lifestyle at the Green Lifestyle Film Festival in Los Angeles, California, USA. On September 21, Golden Year 5 (2008), Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously sent a gift of US$10,000 to assist with the university tour and also to acknowledge the efforts of the filmmaker and all those involved in its production. Aaron was very touched upon hearing of Her kind contribution and happily accepted the cheque presented by Sydney Association members. With the film just beginning to make its premiere around the world at the time, the arrival of the gift was timely.
