In Master’s Loving Care

Soon after an earthquake hit Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf in September, 2008, Supreme Master Ching Hai contributed US$50,000 to a relief effort launched by Her Association’s emergency relief team comprised of  members from Iran and Singapore. Although the Iranian government had provided essential food supplies, earthquake victims in some areas spoke of  a shortage of rice and tents.

With the assistance of the village leaders who provided them with their offices and vans, the team distributed bags of rice to the villagers, chocolate for the children and SOS flyers on September 20. Following Master’s insightful suggestion, about US$30,000 was allocated for the tents, as buildings in 16 villages were 20% to 80% damaged.

On October 22, another 283 tents were shipped to the most heavily affected village of Payposht.  This time the village leaders arranged a school for use by our Association members. The people of Qeshm expressed their deep gratitude to beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai for Her unconditional love and attention.
