After reading about the difficult situation of a Sudanese family in Brisbane, Australia, Supreme Master Ching Hai was deeply touched and sent US$1,000 (AU$1,200) to the family to help them with their house rent. Brisbane initiates presented Master’s loving gift to the Reath Kok family on August 12, Golden Year 5 (2008).

A month earlier, this family had to find another home to live in; however, their modest income and the complexities of the rental market made it difficult for them to find another place. Thankfully, a businessman volunteered to subsidize their rental payments and community members raised AU$2,000 to assist the family. Now they are living happily in their new residence.

Pastor Guido Kettniss, a Presbyterian minister who attended the presentation of Master’s gift, has been actively helping the family since their arrival in Australia. His church has been providing assistance to newly arrived Sudanese families for about five to six years now. From his experiences, Pastor Guido shared that the Australian public always dig deep into their pockets to help people in need.

When initiates presented Master’s monetary gift to the beautiful family of seven, they graciously accepted it displaying brilliant smiles, and were thankful to Master. The five sons of Parliament and his wife, Aker, were given gift-wrapped boxes of chocolate, which they enthusiastically received, joyously tearing off the wrapping. The family was also given two of Master’s books, The Noble Wilds and The Birds in My Life. After seeing the Supreme Master TV flyer, Aker exclaimed that she had watched this TV station before; they had already adjusted their satellite dish to receive Supreme Master Television.

Initiates are grateful to Master for being given the honor to meet such a beautiful, pure-hearted family and for the opportunity to share Her love with them.
