A Special Teacher’s Day Celebration

By Kuala Lumpur News Group (Originally in English)

[Kuala Lumpur] On May 23, Golden Year 5 (2008), upon invitation to participate in the Teacher’s Day Celebration, a team of enthusiastic fellow initiates dressed in Supreme Master Television T-shirts arrived at the Cochrane National Secondary School in Kuala Lumpur to spread the SOS global warming messages.

With assistance from the school organizing committee, the initiates served vegetarian cakes and veggie burgers to more than 1,500 students and staff members. For many of them, it was their first-ever vegetarian meal and they were surprised to find the food tasted so good. Through sharing films and Supreme Master TV programs on climate change, SOS flyers and DVDs, the initiates informed the teachers and students of the urgency of global warming and its effective remedies. Information on the plant-based diet and bio-degradable products was distributed. Recyclable items such as cloth bags, eco-friendly food boxes and “Go Green” posters were also exhibited.

The response was positive and encouraging, as many teenagers asked specific questions and voiced their concerns about environmental problems affecting their lives. The school principal fully supported the continuous efforts of raising the public’s awareness on the urgency of climate change, its causes and solutions. She promised to encourage her students to switch to a plant-based diet; and she hoped this healthy, eco-friendly, compassionate new lifestyle would be part of the country’s culture in the future. Fellow initiates were delighted with the outcome and are grateful to Master for the opportunity to work with the school and for Her immense blessings at the event.
