By Ohio News Group (Originally in English)

[Missouri] On April 20, Earth Day was celebrated
at an event in St. Louis, where Ohio and Missouri fellow initiates
came together to distribute 5,000 SOS flyers and share vegan food
with the visitors, many of whom were pleasantly surprised at the taste
of the vegan barbecue that was served. One girl said, “This
is the first time I’ve tried vegan food and because it’s
so tasty, I’ll try it more in the future.” The guests
were also introduced to a vegetarian website where they can easily
purchase textured soy protein and access many recipes. As the mayor
of St. Louis who attended the event said, “Earth Day is a wonderful
event and with the information now available, each of us can learn
new ways to do more individually to help protect the environment.”

 Inspiring Children to Be Vegetarian
By Illinois News Group (Originally in English)
[Illinois] On Earth Day, April 22, local fellow initiates
provided a vegetarian lunch for 147 students in five classes at Hayt
Elementary School in Chicago and conducted educational seminars about
the link between the meat diet and greenhouse gas emissions. Ms. Nancy
Tarpey Cole, a fifth grade teacher, worked closely with the initiates
to prepare the presentation. Both the students and the teachers enjoyed
the tasty vegetarian food and responded very positively to the information
presented. The children’s attentive looks with their innocent
eyes ready to absorb whatever information we could offer was truly
amazing. Touched by the experience, the initiates hope that everyone
can work together to save our precious planet so that these lovely
children can continue to enjoy this Earthly home.
 Creating a Greener World
By Michigan News Group (Originally in English)
[Michigan] In April and May, local initiates participated
in the Great American Meatout event, Earth Day Expo and the Green
Street Fair to help create a greener world. At the Earth Day Expo,
they shared the urgent messages on global warming with 6,000 attendees.
They had enthusiastic discussions with the guests on the benefits
of the vegetarian diet and its relationship to global warming, as
well as alternative energy. The publisher of Body, Mind
and Spirit magazine who had helped in the promotion of Supreme
Master TV and Master’s books expressed his openness to the idea
of publishing an article on Master in his magazine. The fellow initiates
felt thankful for the wonderful opportunity to spread Master’s
            messages to so many people!

 An Inspiring Alive! Expo
By Georgia News Group (Originally in English)
[Georgia] On April 26 and 27, local initiates participated
in the Alive! Expo held at the Georgia World Congress Center. The
event, attracting about 15,000 visitors, was to inspire individuals
to embrace a life of health, wellness and fitness through awareness
of natural and alternative solutions. Many visitors felt elevated
by the loving atmosphere emanating from the initiates’ booth.
They were each given a gift bag containing a SOS DVD, flyer and pen,
a vegetarian recipe booklet and more. Some vegetarians also wanted
the gift bag to share with their meat-eating friends. A bodybuilder
running an adjacent booth decided to help the noble mission by putting
vegetarian recipe booklets in his stall. Several visitors showed interest
in Master’s teachings and plan to visit the Georgia Center soon.
The fellow initiates also conducted a special seminar entitled “Go
Veg, Go Green” to share important facts on climate change. Many
attendees were wakened to the severity and impact of meat-eating on
            the environment.

A Loud Call for National Action

By Virginia News Group (Originally in English)
[Washington, D.C.] On April 20, despite the torrential downpour of rain, thousands of locals and tourists attended an event held in the National Mall to rally support for national action on global warming. Featuring elected officials and candidates, celebrities and musical performances, the event also had voter registration and a board listing the names of over 1,000 college campuses calling for a “Climate Change” campaign to lobby Congress. Simultaneous events were held in other cities nationwide. The Virginia Center’s booth attracted hundreds of visitors to watch Supreme Master Television programs and read news articles on the seriousness of climate change. Many of them inquired about the link between meat-eating and global warming and how becoming vegetarian can help the environment. To ensure the event would be paperless, as requested by the organizer, the initiates gave out Supreme Master TV pens and magnets, and SOS DVDs. One fellow initiate creatively ordered self-inking stamps that had messages such as “Luv me, don’t eat me” and “Go Veg! Be Green!” to be imprinted on visitors’ faces and hands. It helped to lighten people’s spirits and reminded them that caring for the planet, while a serious matter, can also be lots of fun!
Fiesta Asia 2008 On May 17, Virginia fellow initiates participated in the 2nd annual
Fiesta Asia, which celebrated the richness and diversity of Asian
culture through music and entertainment. The Festival attracted about
20,000 guests. At their booth, initiates promoted the Alternative
Living lifestyle by selling vegetarian food such as Heavenly Dumplings,
Celestial Summer Rolls, and Angel Sweet Corn. Many customers remarked
on how wonderful the food tasted and inquired as to whether they had
a restaurant in the local area. Others were touched by our group’s
spirit of compassion. Master’s energy was ever-present and the
love in the air was palpable.
The First Veggie Pride Parade in America
By New York News Group (Originally in English)
[New York] On May 18, the first Veggie Pride Parade
was held in Greenwich (a meat packing district) in New York City,
where vegetarian groups, animal rights activists and local vegetarian
restaurants came together to chant the praises of the environmental,
spiritual and health benefits of this grand lifestyle. Over 100 fellow
initiates from New York, Boston, New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky
joined this parade, wearing Alternative Living/Supreme Master TV shirts
and hats, carrying beautiful, informative signs such as “SOS,
Global Warming Caused by Meat Eating.” They marched happily
echoing loudly “Go Veggie! Be Green!” from Greenwich to
the Washington Square Park. The initiated vegetarian kids and teenagers
as well as Simba, a tofu-fed black Labrador retriever, walking proudly
with the group caught a lot attention. This parade drew great major
media coverage from national TV channels and newspapers to the internet
            and radio stations.

By LA News Group (Originally in English)
[Los Angeles] On April 20, Los Angeles initiates participated
in the Earth Day Fair at Santa Monica Pier to share the SOS climate
change message and Supreme Master TV information to the 30,000 visitors.
People were very open-minded and happily accepted the flyers. On April
28 and 29, initiates conducted a two-day seminar and information booth
at the Long Beach City College Environmental Fair. On the first day,
after serving a delicious vegetarian meal, an initiate presented the
SOS DVD. The young people at the session showed deep concern about
climate change, asking for more information on a wide range of related
topics. The following day, the initiates conducted a booth at the
Fair sharing with everyone information on vegetarianism, the SOS global
warming messages and Master’s teachings. The students, faculty
and staff who visited the booth showed great interest in the delicious
food and the SOS messages. A lot of people said they had previously
been unaware of the seriousness of the climate situation. Members
of the college’s TV station crew commended, “You’re
doing good work here. Thanks for coming to our fair.” It was
another successful event in a series of efforts to spread the SOS
climate change messages in Southern California.
