Street Friends See Love in Action

On January 28, the Social Affairs Department of Taoyuan County and the Ren An Foundation held a service-and-counseling session at Taoyuan’s Wenchang Park to help the local street friends lead a normal life again. Association members from the Taoyuan Center participated in this charitable event by providing a hundred vegetarian meal boxes and distributing Alternate Living fliers. In appreciation of their compassionate actions, the event’s organizer thanked and presented our Association with a silk banner embroidered with the words “The Winds of Love are Everywhere.”

In addition, Taoyuan Center initiates also contributed a batch of material to the used-material-recycling center of the Ren An Foundation, which after being reconditioned and categorized by the street friends, will be sold for charity by the Foundation. The proceeds will be used to help the street people.

A Warm Embrace in the Cold of Winter

In the winter months toward the end of Golden Year 4 (2007), Association members from the Laiyi Center visited people in the neighborhood and nearby mountainous areas to extend their concern and friendship. They presented gifts of rice and Supreme Master Television flyers to low-income households and physically or mentally challenged people in Sinjhih Village, Wanluan Township and in the indigenous communities of Laiyi Township, hoping to bring love and warmth into their lives.
