The Sentient World of Animals

A Cat Absorbed in Watching Supreme Master Television

By a fellow initiate in China (Originally in Chinese)

“Look! There is a toy cat with very lovely fur!” a customer making a payment at the counter happily stated to the shop owner. Before the shop owner could reply, the customer could not resist touching it and with surprise declared, “Oh! It is not a toy cat!” The shop owner said to the customer with a smile, “If you find this strange, there is something even more unusual!” She switched off the computer, and immediately that lovely “toy” cat stood up and walked away. The customer was really amazed and asked, “What is the matter with it?”

This cat was abandoned just after it was born and nearly starved to death. A sister initiate running a supermarket found him and adopted him. Because the kitten was so young, she took him with her to the shop to take better care of him. There she prepared a very comfortable soft cushion for him to rest. In fact, the whole family cared for him meticulously and fed him vegetarian food. If the kitten was given non-vegetarian food, he wouldn’t even take one bite. Now he has grown up and is a very lively, lovely and amiable cat.

Following the launch of Supreme Master Television, the sister initiate bought a computer and plays the Supreme Master Television programs every day. From then on, the cat changed his habit of idling on the comfortable and soft cushion. He now squats on the counter or crouches over the hi-fi set to watch the Supreme Master Television programs with undivided attention. He appears to be so motionless as if he is in Samadhi and totally intoxicated in Master’s divine blessing. Even if people touch or call him, he won’t budge. As long as the programs are running he does not eat, just drinks a little all day long. That is why he is often mistaken for a toy cat. However, as soon the Supreme Master Television program is switched off, he walks away looking disappointed.

Thank You Master for bestowing Your divine blessing and immense love on all sentient beings, and for giving them the opportunity to enjoy such heavenly happiness! From this experience, we understand better that we should love and protect animals and extend our compassion to all, because they are our friends. Animals also have a God Nature, and they are practicing in many different ways to elevate themselves.
