On July 28th, 2007 a flood struck Bama, a village located about 390 km from Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina-Faso. Water destroyed the houses and carried away many of the people's personal possessions. Informed of this situation, our compassionate Master made a generous contribution of 10,000 USD. According to Master's instructions, the fellow initiates quickly mobilized themselves and a team of 10 went to the disaster area with a truck filled with clothing, food and medicines. With Master's blessing, the owner of the building, where we have our Center, helped us a lot in making all of the necessary arrangements.

He gave our Association members two cars so they could buy the needed relief items. As well, thanks to him, our team got permission to cook by themselves in the hotel where they were staying. He also provided the truck that carried the relief items from Bobo Dioulasso City to Bama. In addition to all of that, he assigned 7 people to help us with this relief effort.

All of the victims received the relief materials that day. We then gave any leftover items to other social organizations. Before distribution, some of the fellow initiates introduced Supreme Master Ching Hai to the people and explained why they had come. Then, flyers introducing the Quan Yin Method of meditation, some sample booklets, Master's pictures and the Alternative Living flyers were handed out. As well, time was taken to answer the numerous questions posed about spiritual practice.

It was a pleasant surprise to discover that some of the people were interested in Master's teachings; others agreed with the reasons for keeping the vegetarian diet. We thank Master for this opportunity to share our love, unconditional.
