[Busan] On August 7, Golden Year 4 (2007), many parents and children gathered in the library of Sungcheon Elementary School for a lesson on vegetarianism organized by the initiates from Busan Center.

The event started with a presentation called “The Beautiful Vegetarian Diet” given by Brother Byun, a high school teacher. In his presentation, he related to the audience the benefits of vegetarianism by including a lot of information from news reports and TV broadcasts on this issue. Many parents and children listened to the lecture with great attentiveness. They nodded their heads when showed the related documents and began to seriously think about the food they put on their tables.

After the lecture, sisters from the Busan Center treated all the guests to several hearty vegetarian dishes they had prepared. Thus, the parents learned that vegetarian foods are not inferior to the meat diet in either taste or nutritious value. They also saw how their children loved these foods. The parents enthusiastically inquired about the cooking methods of vegetarian dishes and the stores where they could buy the ingredients. When they finished eating, sister Cho gave a cooking lesson on “Vegetarian chicken.”

The parents said that they would consider starting to eat vegetarian. They also asked our initiates to come back to give another presentation so that more parents and children could learn about it. One child, after watching the DVD on vegetarian related information, remarked, “I am going to ask my Mom to cook vegetarian food only from now on.” Fellow initiates were greatly encouraged by the success of this event and made up their minds to bring the presentation to every school in the city!

Supreme Master Television Bus Ads

[Daegu] Initiates from Daegu signed a contract with two bus lanes to put up Supreme Master Television promotion posters on the buses starting July 20, Golden Year 4 (2007). The bus lanes cover the biggest market and the downtown area, including a university town. It is our hope that through the bus promotion, more citizens will have the chance to know about our positive news program.

[Busan] A Supreme Master Television announcement has been in place at Dongbu Cross-country Bus Terminal in Nopo-dong, Busan, since June 2007. This announcement measures 2m x 1.4m and is illuminated, thus attracting attention from many bus terminal visitors even at night.

Distributing Supreme Master Television Fans in Non-smoking Festival

[Daegu] On August 10, Golden Year 4 (2007), Daegu initiates attended the “Health and Non-Smoking Festival” at Daegu Main Stadium. It was sponsored by the Suseong Public Health Center whose aim was to inform the public of the harmful affects of smoking and also to promote public health. Fellow practitioners distributed Supreme Master TV promotional fans, which were well received by the Daegu citizens. After only one hour of distribution, it seemed that everyone in the festival was holding our fans! The Daegu initiates were greatly encouraged by the positive response from the participants in this event. Thank You, Master!

Children’s Fun Summer Camp

[Cheongdo] On July 28 and 29, Golden Year 4 (2007), Korean initiates held a children’s camp at an initiate’s house in Cheongdo, Gyeongbuk Province. A wide variety of programs were planned such as making seaweed rolls, watching movies, knitting eco-scouring pads (for washing dishes), observing the Moon’s surface as well as many recreational activities like campfire, fireworks and swimming. This two-day camp was a great opportunity for children to leave their city life routine and experience the freshness of nature.

Vegetarian Restaurants Sprouting in Korea

[Yong In] July 25, Golden Year 4 (2007), was the grand opening day of the first vegetarian chain restaurants in Korea. Located in Yong-In City of Gyeonggi-do, "VegeWorld" is a chain restaurant belonging to Home of the Fifth World, which opened in Seoul on April 22. "VegeWorld" has 70 seats and visitors can watch Supreme Master Television on PDP TV. The owner and the cooking staff are all Convenient Method practitioners, and a portion of the income is reserved for helping the needy.

[JeonJu] On August 3rd, Golden Year 4 (2007), a vegetarian buffet venue named Pulkot Sesang (Green Flower World) run by Convenient Method practitioners reopened in Jeonju city. Famous for its delicious foods, the restaurant has expanded to accommodate 250 seats in a two-story building with a parking lot that holds 50 cars. The owners and their son are long-time vegetarians. The son is also a good athlete, thus setting a wonderful example of a healthy vegetarian.

Spreading Good News in Lotus Festival

[Gwangju] On Aug 4, Gwangju initiates visited the Muan White Lotus Festival, held in Muan County, Jeonnam Province. The lotus lake there is 330,000 m2, making it the biggest lotus lake in Asia . Enjoying the beautiful and fragrant lotus, many people came to visit this festival. We distributed the Supreme Master TV fans, which the people really liked. As the weather was hot, soon everyone asked us to give them a fan. They read the messages on the fans very carefully. Since ancient times, the lotus has been a symbol of Truth. We hope these lotus-loving people will get in touch with real Truth through Supreme Master Television.
